Shot on a Helios 44-2 — Soviet 58mm, swirly bokeh and a rendering that works in a particular way. This derelict industrial complex in West Sussex sits in a hillside, December, bare trees and grey light. I brought this lens specifically to see what it makes visible about industrial decay: monumental concrete, skeletal frameworks, corrugated metal weathered to rust. The vintage glass characterising abandonment through its own imperfections.
