Bristol Birdman, Harbourside - an annual charity event where competitors jump off a scaffold platform into the harbour in homemade flying machines and costumes. Kayakers floated below to fish them out. A red biplane, a stork, a phoenix in a red cape - and the boy in the crowd grinning wider than any of them.
