St Nectan's Glen, near Tintagel, Cornwall. The waterfall drops through a circular hole worn in the rock into a kieve below. Associated with the 6th-century hermit St Nectan, considered a sacred site — ribbons and offerings tied in the trees. What drew me was the gorge itself: thick moss on every surface, dark walls, the woodland's enclosure.
