Working waterfront at the mouth of the Fal Estuary — weathered pilings in shallow green water, turquoise and orange barriers against deteriorating concrete, yellow boats exposed on mud at low tide. Colour everywhere: bright painted doors, blue railings, barriers, all set against rust, decay, weathering. The tidal margins reveal what's hidden. And strange — giant gunnera plants in a garden somewhere, their massive leaves an odd lush note in a weathered, working place.
