England's smallest city, Wells — cathedral and Bishop's Palace anchoring the green, the rest stone cottages and lanes running down to Liberty Street. I was photographing the vernacular: weathered slate, honey-coloured stone, the texture of how a medieval city is built and lived in. The domestic detail that holds it together.
