Walking through Bath's streets, I was drawn to how the honey-stone architecture layers itself - carved detail, ornamental ironwork, decorative balustrades creating frames within frames. Every element - the statues, the Gothic windows, the period signs against Georgian facades - sits inside another element. The material and ornament do the compositional work.
