Ten days trekking the Icelandic highlands from Landmannalaugar to Porsmork. The landscape opened with striped rhyolite mountains and geothermal valleys. The trek moved through contrasts — color and barrenness, beauty and hardship — with Green Ridge on day two standing as one of the most beautiful places. By day ten, crossing icy rivers into dwarf birch woodland, the journey was complete. The highlands reward slow movement, patient attention. All on foot, staying in remote mountain huts.
